Over the weekend, my pretty princess had her second dance recital. Let me tell you, she shined bright like a diamond. I’m not just saying that because I’m her mommy.. She really showed lots of personality and energy. She had a few moments when she forgot her moves, but she wasn’t nervous at all.
She performed three dances. The first dance was a jazz number to “Bubble Pop” by Kim Hyuna, next up was a lyrical dance to “If I Could Turn Back” by Cher, and finally was her tap dance to “Tightrope” by Janelle Monae.
She loved the stage and she told me she’s ready for her next one! Can mommy get a break, sheesh?
I’m super proud of her and am really excited that she loves the stage. I guess we can look forward to many more dance recitals and possibly joining the Jacksonville Dance Company so that she can compete
What did you do over the weekend?

I’m not sure I mentioned that I have been unable to run the last few weeks due to a strain on my right foot… welp if you didn’t know, now you know!
The problem is that I was scheduled to run a 10k on Memorial Day weekend in honor of a veteran that was very dear to my heart.

This particular 10K is a virtual 10K directed by the Plant Based Runner which means I can run it anytime and anywhere. I will just use my handy phone app to track mileage and time and submit it to the race director for some race bling a.k.a. a medal. Proceeds from the Memorial Day virtual run benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
I’m not sure if I’m going to attempt to walk/jog/run the 10k next weekend or just postpone it until July 4th. I’m thinking I should just postpone it because I just aint about that walking life.. I like to run.. not walk.
We will see… either way I will show my honor and respect to one of the sweetest guys I’ve ever known. I appreciate the sacrifices he’s made for our country as well as the kindness he showed to me in his last days.
